We offer bespoke training and consultancy to schools who are looking for a deeper impactful change.
We have worked with a large number of schools and MATS in improving policy, processes, recording and ethos whilst delivering skills to staff, at all levels, ensuring that they are confident in managing the vast majority of situations they face.
These days are fully tailored to your schools needs and you receive a full review of provision and how, working together, it can be improved.
We understand that for some schools and organisations, there needs to be a change of understanding and culture … why do the children do this? Our courses are fun, practical and help staff understand what they can do to make things better.
Our behaviour training can be delivered as twilight, half day, full day and keynote/conference.
Once you’ve attended a full course, you are invited to a half day refresher course, where we reflect upon your experiences over the year and revisit all the methodology, law and guidance and practical elements.
Again, at the end of the half day, you will receive a certificate to demonstrate you are still accredited. This is unique to our methodology as we can ensure you are fully aware of any changes or adjustments, and we, as trainers, can ensure you are confident and comfortable in managing the interesting behaviours you work with.
Our proven methodology begins as a full day course, where participants are guided through a variety of distraction, de-escalation and diffusion skills whilst being given the opportunity to reflect upon their current practice. The practical supportive holding section demonstrates that by using natural movement and not strength, you can ensure the safety of all.
We understand how upsetting it can be for staff and parents working with interesting behaviour, to know that a child may need to be supportively held, but our training gives a huge array of de-escalation skills so that holding is very much the last option in all our practitioners minds.
We fully believe that at no point should a child or young person feel that they have been restrained when working within the LeAFE Support framework. It is a collaborative, team based approach with the child or young person very much at the centre.
By the end of the course, participants will leave with a full understanding of techniques they can use to support and accredited for a whole year.
